Il dott. Chandika è il Direttore Generale del Benjamin Mkapa Hospital” (BMKH) di Dodoma

Dear Prof. Cornelio

Thank you for your email.
As per our discussion recently over the phone, I totally agree with your plan and I continue to thank you so so much for your kind heart which has already started making Tanzanian Children’s regain their happiness. Every time patient Elisha comes for his Clinic he always visit me in the office ,he looks a very happy child now and his health is progressively improving. I am sure even for the rest of the children are having the same experience, so thank you so much for your tireless effort to ensure this service is established in the Country with high need of the service which seemed impossible, but you have proved the world that with commitment and dedicated heart real impossible can be converted to possible.
Thank you once again for your great heart.

Chandika

Dear Dr. Chandika,

how are you?

Our commitment with BMH transplant program will continue with setting up a stage at St. Raphael Hospital in September/October for one Lab Technician (Melkiad) and probably for Dr. Zimbwe.

Our team could set up  other venues to BMH  from October on ,if it needs. Ideally our mission will be  very fruitful if in the BMT UNIT there are  admitted at least 3 patients. At present time the BMT program  seems  to be rather slow due to some difficulties that Dr. Shakilu and Dr. Stella know well. Hopefully they can solve the issues mainly due to the HLA typing by DKMS Registry. Many SCD patients are waiting for BMT!

Last but not least I hope that the friend of mine who is strongly involved in our common project can come with me to BMH in October. My dream is to see very nice results in this first extraordinary experience in favour of SCD children and with your team commitment to approach also the diagnosis and treatment of Leukemic children in the near future; in this regard I’ve already involved a colleague of mine very expert in the use of Flowcytometry , instrument that you’ve at BMH for the diagnosis of Leukemia/Lymphoma but not yet in use.

Warmest greetings and habari za asubui

Cornelio Uderzo
